Rembrandt’s Conservation Legacy

Big ideas, real impact : $15m raised for conservation

We designed an end-to-end campaign for the historic sale of Rembrandt Van Rijn’s $18m masterpiece Young Lion Resting, with all proceeds going to Panthera, the world’s leading organization for the conservation of wild cats. The campaign aimed to expand Panthera’s reach beyond traditional conservation audiences into high-net worth and arts & culture spheres.

  • Produced and coordinated specialised catalogue prints, online content and promotional activations with Sotheby’s ahead of the New York auction on February 4th 2026. Managed the entire relationship on behalf of Panthera.

  • Developed storytelling videos for web & socials that connected the mission behind the sale of the drawing with the symbolism of the art, and amplified Panthera’s impact to new audiences beyond conservation “connoisseurs”.

  • Deployed partnerships with 37 influential accounts with a combined following of 2.9 million, and managed the engagement of celebrity partners, reaching 29.7 million followers

  • Staged the disappearance of the lion from the Rembrandt masterpiece to symbolize the drastic decline in lion populations over the last century, encouraging the arts to save the wildlife that inspires it. The stunt drew global audiences from outside of the environmental echo chamber to engage with the conservation issue.
